It's that time of year again! February 2014
Birding is heating up along with the temperatures. The sun was out in full force and it was over 80 degrees today. All our feathered friends are starting to phase into their breeding plumage and the colors are fantastic. The Anhingas have their full blown "green eye" and head feathers going and the Snowy Egrets, Great Egrets and Great Blue Herons are becoming fluffy too. The Manatees were moving up and down the river looking for a bite to eat and it's always nice to see them. The Wood Stork was still hanging around in Snake Creek and a pair of Barred Owls came in to say hello. It was a lovely day to be on the river!
