For a Summer time paddle the Wekiva River is hard to beat. We got a morning start, hugged the treeline to stay in the shade and it wasn't long before the wildlife showed itself. We saw a group of young Gators hanging out in the Duckweed mats and the Turtles were out sunning. The Anhingas, Little Blue Herons in the white phase, "calico" and blue phase showed off their colors. The Ospreys, Moorhens, Limpkins, Great Blue and Green Herons were all out feeding too. After our snack break we drifted back to the park. It's a great day when you can spend it with Mother Nature and with family ;-).
