We came upon this Bittern on the way to Bugg Springs in Okahumpka, FL. Joe Branham showed us around the area and we all had a great day of it! Great Friends, Great Family and a Great Day! Happy 79th birthday Joe!

About Us
- The Boyd's
- Our birding career started in October of 2004. After a big hurricane season in Florida many animals and birds were displaced and trying to make it back to their "normal" living area. We were boating with some friends on the St. Johns River when Wayne said "Look! It's a Mangrove Cuckoo Bird!" Well knowing him like we do, we said "don't give us that malarkey, we're not falling for that." At that point, he proceeds to pull a bird book from his bag and show us that indeed the bird we were looking at was a Mangrove Cuckoo Bird! From then on, we we're hooked. We spend at least one day a week in the boats learning to identify a new bird, plant, butterfly, tree etc. It's a great way to be close to nature and we enjoy every minute of it.
