Our mission today was to go bird watching near Mt Dora, FL and as we kayaked down the Dora Canal with binoculars in hand the chatter of the rookery caught our attention. High above in the ancient Cypress Trees the Anhingas have given birth and the youngsters are learning to fly. Limpkins, Great Egrets, Cormorants, Pileated Woodpeckers, Great Blue Herons, Prothonotary Warblers, Tri-colored and Little Blue Herons were all spotted this morning on our leisurely bird watching tour. Dora Canal is a great place for wildlife viewing and we saw so much while #BirdingWithKenny.

Located in Tavares, Florida the Dora Canal is a beautiful waterway that joins Lake Eustis and Lake Dora. There are several ways to access the Dora Canal. You can do this via the boat tours in Mt Dora, rent a pontoon boat in Tavares, go paddle boarding with Katrina or do what we did and take Kenny's Dora Canal guided kayak tour.

Whichever way you choose to do see the Dora Canal it is definitely worth the visit and an awesome place to do some bird watching!
